Intro to Ceramics: Wheel Throwing

6 weeks | September 30 - November 4th Thursdays 6pm-8pm (FOUR spots left) OR Saturdays 11am-1pm (FIVE spots left) Join Ceramist Lucie Lockard as she introduces you to wheel throwing! No experience needed, Lucie will guide you from the very beginning. This 6-week course will be an introduction to wheel thrown ceramics. Within this once-a-week course, this class will learn how to create functional ceramics on a potter's wheel. The class will begin with learning how to center clay, create basic forms, and become comfortable with our tools and equipment. Students will progress into learning how to throw a variety of forms and learn throwing techniques as they build confidence with clay. Trimming techniques will be taught to refine students' work. Projects will include making functional ware from start to finish such as cups, mugs and bowls. Our course will finish with learning about the glazing process as everyone glazes their own work. All levels welcome. Repeat students welcomed. Pick a time that works best for you! The same lesson will be taught twice/week, so you can join the session that works best with your schedule. **Thursdays 6pm - 8pm** or **Saturdays 11am - 1pm**

Please note we require 48 hours notice for workshop cancellation and will provide credit only. Same day re-schedule requests will incur a $15 fee. No refunds.
