Intro to Ceramics: Wheel Throwing

6 weeks | January 6 - February 10 Mondays 6pm-8pm Join Ceramist Lucie Lockard as she introduces you to wheel throwing! No experience needed, Lucie will guide you from the very beginning. This 6-week course will be an introduction to wheel thrown ceramics. Within this once-a-week course, this class will learn how to create functional ceramics on a potter's wheel. The class will begin with learning how to prep clay, center clay, create basic forms, and become comfortable with tools and equipment. Students will progress into learning how to throw a variety of forms and learn throwing techniques as they build confidence with clay. Trimming techniques will be taught to refine students' work. Projects will include making functional ware from start to finish such as cups, mugs and bowls. Our course will finish with learning about the glazing process as everyone glazes their own work. In addition to class time, our 6 weeks course includes our Studio + Membership ($105 + value)! This includes access to the studio during open hours except during private events, a work-in-progress shelf, and access to studio glazes. All levels welcome.
