Intro to Ceramics: Wheel Throwing

6 Weeks | August 18 - September 22 Tuesdays | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Join Instructor TJ as they introduce you to wheel throwing! No experience is needed! TJ will guide you from the very beginning. This 6-week course is an introduction to wheel-thrown ceramics. Meeting once a week, students will learn how to create functional pottery on the potter's wheel. The class begins with learning how to prepare clay, center clay, create basic forms, and become comfortable using pottery tools and equipment. As students build confidence, they'll progress into throwing a variety of forms while learning techniques to improve consistency and craftsmanship. Trimming techniques will also be taught to help refine each piece before moving on to the glazing process, where everyone will glaze their own work. Projects throughout the course include creating functional pottery from start to finish, including cups, mugs, bowls, and other everyday pieces you'll be proud to use or gift. In addition to class time, our 6-week course includes our Studio+ Membership (a $105+ value)! This includes access to the studio during open hours (excluding private events), a work-in-progress shelf, and access to our studio glazes.
